We were informed the night before we flew home that their was a baggage handlers strike. At check in t Porto a shortage of staf meant a wait of one hour in the queue to check-in....

Dusseldorf to Manchester. Deserted airport, check-in easy since someone helped us use the kiosk, and a choice of two desks with no queue to drop bags. Flight on time, row 11C again, food was a rather sticky...

Manchester to Dusseldorf operated by Eurowings. Terminal 1 is a spacious, airy place, but Lufthansa were pushed into (or were only prepared to pay for) a tiny corridor. Our check-in desks were 60-64 of which only two were manned, and one of those...
