    A very nice story and clearly must have involved planning by ATC as well as BA. Are retiring pilots in the UK honoured by the water arch created by the airport fire services …

    My brother-in-law, noe ex BA, received the water hose welcome/farewell 5 years ago when he flew in from San Paolo albeit the FO had to explain to passengers why fire engines were meeting the plane. Rapturous applause followed the announcement from cabin crew and passengers alike so I understand.
