I am sure that we were all shocked, overnight, to hear of the tragic events in the hotels-casino- entertainment -retail complex, Resorts World, in Metro Manila. Our thoughts are with those affected and their families.

For me, this once again brings home our proximity to potential tragedy/ atrocity wherever we travel. I was in Manila last week and stopped off for coffee in the Marriott in Resorts World with friends on Friday on the way to the airport, which is very close to the resort.

However, to stop travelling would be to give in to those who want to destroy our way of life…..

Unfortunately the easy access to guns in the Philippines is the cause of many problems there and regretably it may escalate since a country of so many (beautiful) islands is very difficult to protect.
