For those of you travelling from BCN in the coming days it would be a very good idea to allow a lot of extra time as the security staff there have voted to go on strike.

For the past 10 days or so staff have been on a work-to-rule, with some people reporting spending up to 2 hours in the security queue. According to this article in El PaĆs (in Spanish) the parties involved have been unable to reach an agreement. Partial strikes are planned to start on Friday, and will continue on Sunday and Monday. If no agreement is reached a 24 hour work stoppage 7 days a week is planned starting on the 14th August.
