EK stayed in Trade Centre Appartments? I gather that was before the 4 towers further down SZR on the same side, that were notoriously called ‘PatPong’ District?

Yep. Crew were often outside by the pool. Before the area behind was swallowed by the convention hall expansion.

[quote quote=814505]Do you remember the old original terminal, with I think 10 or 12 check-in desks on the Ground floor, and I think just 4 gates downstairs, that were ‘door’ gates out to a waiting bus?
Maybe FDOS_UK can help us on this?

Oman Air (the airline who paid $75 million for a single LHR slot-pair) is a beneficiary.

It’s increasing the # of flights to Doha from its Muscat hub.

I suspect there is somecollaboration behind the scenes.

Saudi Arabia seems quite keen to ensure pilgrims from Qatar are not affected, and Oman Air/Kuwait Airways have been running extra charter flights to connect to Qatar flights in Muscat and Kuwait City.
