    @SimonS1 – I genuinely don’t think people will care. Those that do, but before they board and consume on board.

    If I know its going to be the usual sandwich cr*p service, I will buy a salad from Pret (or similar) before hand.

    A big fuss over nothing….

    I don’t disagree Martyn. Faced with the prospect of ‘crap in a wrap’ or ‘gristle in gravy’ (depending on route) most people would do likewise.

    Martyn buying before you board makes sense if you are on shorthaul, but the origin of this post is dropping the second meal on long(ish)haul in favour of a Mars bar. In this case, buying before you board is hardly a practical option as your salad/sandwich etc from wherever will have been festering quietly for many hours.

    Perhaps BA realised that too much of the current offering was being dumped, and this was the rationale behind their thinking?
