Good point Peter. I mainly use Swiss and their website permits it. You can even do F and Y.
Otherwise you have to use a travel agent or call the airline.
Interestingly I did ask a TA once and they questioned why and if I wasn’t going to use the return they would get penalised. I then called the airline, they issued the ticket and the agent said “I suppose you’re not using the return”? I was hesitant and then he said, it’s not a problem, just call and cancel when you arrive saying your plans have changed!

Went with the BA option to NYC (avios) with a 3 hour layover and connection up to YYZ.
