Lufthansa announced this morning that its budget subsidiary Eurowings will launch a new and proper long-haul business class next year.

The BIZclass seating will be displayed at Berlin’s ITB trade fair in March.

It is expected to be launched on selected and former Air Berlin long-haul routes ex-Dusseldorf from end April 2018. Lufthansa says the routes in question will be high revenue services such as those to the US.

What sets the new Eurowings seating apart from other LCCs’ long-haul business/premium classes is that it appears to be identical to its parent’s spacious product.

One would imagine BIZclass will also appear on the prime Berlin-New York route which is now being operated by Lufthansa mainline (on a temporary basis) before being handed to Eurowings in 2018.
