^^ I imagine that GA’s premium would be less spacious than SQ in order to maintain the 9 abreast seating.
I think you really downplay potential revenue from corporate pax to and from Indonesia who are currently accommodated by other airlines. GA is gradually leaving its mass tourism market to be handled by its LCC subsidiary, Citilink.

It’s possible that whatever about F, the C seating will be more dense than SIA, the 1-2-1 on the 77W consumes a lot of space for 42 seats. It Garuda have less seats and six across like QR then there may be room for 3-3-3 in Y. They will have to do something for the masses when breaking in to the market so a better product from LGW could be a selling point.

I wonder if they intend to capture kangaroo route traffic. CGK is a bit too far and most other destinations would require a backtrack.

    Hello flyingveryhigh

Yes, enough of speculation regarding the economy cabin. Best to await developments.

But Citilink will not carry tourist traffic from Europe. Isn’t it a regional low-cost carrier ?

    Hello Henkel.Trocken

As you say, flying from Europe passengers will find Jakarta (CGK) is a bit of a backtrack (compared to Kuala Lumpur or Singapore) when making connections to destinations in SE Asia other than Indonesia.

As has been noted above, GA will want to tap the kangaroo route but the problem there is that it’s a low-yield route. GA will have to price keenly to develop brand awareness.

Also the kangaroo route, on account of the number and variety of indirect carriers, is probably the world’s most competitive long distance service.

Is Garuda going to be at the Business Travel show in London in the next 2 days? Might be an opportunity to pin them down if they are going to be there.

Would be a missed opportunity for them if they are not there considering their London launch! Will you be there AMcWhirter?
