Are there any flights currently or planned to Bangor from Europe? I visit northern New England and the Canadian Maritime provinces on a regular basis, and tire of the long drive from Boston or Halifax. Bangor is ideally situated for quick trips to Maine, Vermont, Quebec, New Brunswick and southern Nova Scotia, and would also be perfect for those vacationing in this part of the world in summer, or the “leaf peepers” in the autumn.
International facilities, a huge runway, yet it seems the only “international” side is the Caribbean. I understand it still serves as a refuelling destination for some transatlantic flights, but with no carriage rights.
Am I wrong? Or is this an opportunity for the likes of Norwegian with a 737, aka Shannon-Providence?

    Not that I know, Ardmarnoch.

You are correct in that Bangor (along with Gander and Halifax) serves as an occasional refuelling stop for those westbound transatlantic flights which fall foul of strong headwinds. Here I am referring to United’s use of B757s to operate non-stop services between Europe and the US East Coast.
