After a reasonably comfortable flight from Manchester to Abu Dhabi, I was expecting something similar for my next flight on to Sydney but would recommend giving these B777-300’s a complete miss.

I had a seat in the 4-seat centre section and felt like I had been prematurely crammed into my own coffin. While I struggled to eat my meals with my arms tucked into my chest looking like a T-Rex, my legs were trying to find their way around the seat strut that obstructed my leg space.

While the entertainment system was quite extensive and varied, the uncomfortable seat made any lengthy viewing of it a frustrating experience.

The service was pleasant enough and the food was consistently hot and tasty despite the difficulty in getting it into my mouth.

Overall, I’d be happy to fly Etihad again but not in a B777 – I’d sooner go by DC3.
