FormerlyDoSParticipantIt’s coming around to the time of year where I need to buy travel insurance and I’m not too happy about it.
Whilst I used to be able to find good policies when resident in the UK, the expat choices are poor, basically just annual holiday insurance with a few businessy extras.
I know Martyn Sinclair still rates the cover provided with an Amex card as excellent, but that doesn’t work for me (Amex work through a local bank in Malta and I’d have to pay off the card locally, thus incurring tax on business expenses and making the whole thing uneconimic.)
So my request for help is does anyone know a good firm or broker who offers proper business travel cover, e.g. with missed flight insurance on more than just the outbound leg?
If so, I’d be grateful for a steer in the right direction.

Email: <a href="mailto:[email protected]“>[email protected]
Web: http://www.higos.co.ukCheck the details re missed flights etc if that’s important to you, as off the top of my head I don’t remember the specifics. I was really only interested in medical and theft etc.

MartynSinclairParticipantFDoS, be sure to confirm who ever you speak to are aware of your current residency.
As you all know, I am very particular about travel insurance and terms and conditions. If Higos offer a full advisory service to include travel insurance, I would be take it, even if there is a fee involved.

K1ngstonParticipantFDos before I went down the route of Amex Platinum I went to comparethemarket.com and found a company there who specialised in all the requirements we heavy travellers and ExPats would require. I am afraid I am racking my brains to try and remember the name of the policy but the cover was extensive and not too expensive.
Alternatively take the plunge on Amex Platinum it is the best cover!
Good Luck
