With all the problems at BA I thought I should alert readers to the WCML closure tomorrow and which so far has received little if any publicity.

@VirginTrains has tweeted to say that because of overhead line damage the WCML section between Penrith and Oxenholme will be closed tomorrow.

There will be NO services (either with Virgin or the other operator TPE Express) and replacement coaches will be laid on between Lancaster, Penrith and Carlisle. This will also impact on travellers taking the busy London-Glasgow route via the WCML.

Virgin is saying that travellers with tickets for May 29 can use them on May 30.
