Alex McWhirterParticipantLatest airline to join the buy-on-board (BoB) carriers is Air Malta, according to a report today on timesofmalta.com
No date was shown for when the BoB service will commence but at present time free catering is provided.
It is understood that the airline has had to reduce its costs now that Ryanair is serving Malta.

syclik5ParticipantAir Malta “adopted” BoB in 2015 – as per their own website and press articles at the time.

SwissExPatParticipantLast year, I remember being booked in Swiss to Malta and then being rebooked onto Air Malta due to a schedule change.
I felt a bit miffed because unlike the Swiss free catering (food and drink) i was now being asked to pay for these items on Air Malta.
Definitely BoB for them for at least a year. One to avoid.

FDOS_UKParticipantKM did have a low fare version of their flights to places like STN, named LowFare4you or something similar (can’t remember the exact name) and that was BoB – it defintely existed in 2006, as we emigrated from STN to Malta on such a flight. I remember us all eating in Frankie and Benny’s before the flight, then paying for drinks in the air.
I don’t recall this service lasting for long, though and KM dropped or slashed services to the ports in question.
