Announced in Dubai this morning that as from the October winter timetable the Dubai to Manchester service will extend to the Isle of Man , three days a week. A spokesman for EK said that it is all part of the UK and Irish expansion plans. EK also expect to get traffic rights from MAN to IOM which could be interesting.

Interesting, but I wonder if this announcement has something to do with today’s date? 🙂

Doh…. and here was me trying to calculate what aircraft they could use to land on the IOM! I just logged on to the AXA PPP site regarding a claim and there is a banner advising they now provide insurance for Man Flu, it was at that point I remembered the date!

I’m the fool again. Well done openfly. I thought it was genuine as well.

Oh well. A380’s to the Isle of Wight next?

If they took an alternate routing, they could see the repositioned Nelson’s Column…

Sorry guys and gals….got yer! I did consider Emirates “new route”…..daily to St Helena, in October 2016 when the runway opens. But then I thought that is likely to happen!!!! ;-))

Since we’re talking about Emirates and by association Dubai, I thought I’d better let you all know that Al Jazeera have decided not to show repeats of the Flintstones…..apparently after running focus groups, the broadcaster found that…….

The good citizens of Dubai, don’t get it, but Abu Dhabi do !!

I know you fell for the Isle of Man tale LP, but Gulf airlines can genuinely turn up in unexpected places. My local airport now is Geneva – and there are almost always small aircraft badged “Etihad regional” on the apron.

https://www.etihadregional.com/en-us/book-your-flight/timetable/ will tell you all about it. So if Emirates turn up on the IoM, do not be too surprised.

DavidGordon10 – they were formerly badged as Darwin – see https://www.etihadregional.com/en-us/
