Vancouver to Maui and back. Newish planes on both flights with 34″ economy product which was surprisingly comfortable for a six hour flight. Seat back TVs on flight out with tablets on brand new 737 on the way back. Would have been great, though system crashed on flight over.

Ultra friendly and professional crews and reasonable selection of food and drink to buy, though free soft drinks and biscuits/chips also offered. Ability to run a tab with payment at end of flight was also great. This also allowed our kids and their friend to order food and charge it to us, when they were sitting further back.

Generous luggage allowance of 23kg and two pieces of hand luggage, had we wanted an extra case, it would have only costed CAD 20 . Also a pragmatic
approach shown by check in staff when one case was over 23kg and another under. Our friendly Irish airline here in Europe would not have been so flexible

All in all a very pleasant and unexpected surprise.

Was this through a BA codeshare?

Becky – flights were booked separately before the code share was announced, though the code share will be good news for passengers wishing to travel to Hawaii from London via Vancouver

The only flexible thing there is the cane they spank you with if you transgress 😉
