Virgin Upper Class .. 747

Was wondering which are the best seats ?

I have been told that the upper deck seats are slightly longer but I like the idea of row 15 on the lower deck. Very little traffic as toilets and galley are to the rear.

Advice please.

Upper deck on 744 are longer and offer reasonable space. downstairs is same as 346 which are 2-3 inches shorter. So whilst 346 service most destinations, anothe rreason to fly BA.

Depends on which seating layout the 747 has.

Entirely Upper Class top deck is good but there is only one toilet so there is a usually queues.

Mixed Upper / Premium top deck has an extra toilet, so fewer queues, but possibly more noise from the extra numbers of premium passengers.

Front couple of rows of the nose section on lower deck is good, especially if you are travelling with someone, but otherwise you may feel a bit close to the person on the other side of the aisle. Although the beds are slightly shorter, you do get a better view from the windows as the cabin wall is curved, so you don't have to contort yourself so much to look out if you are sat in the nose section.
Hope this helps.

Dear Bullfrog,

You may find it useful to take a look at our sister website seatplans.com, which has information on the four different seating layouts for Virgin's B747 aircraft, with editorial and user-generated reviews of flights.

It is a trip for April. I am booked BA First fom LHR to SFO, & returning Upper Class.

I am 6'2" tall & have previously been ok with the J class seat on the VS airbus.

I am choosing between row 15 which will have less traffic than the upper deck or a seat on upper deck.
