Continuing the theme of some other posts, I would like to share my recent experience for the benefit of others. Manchester Airport T2, adjacent to the smoking area is a vending machine which has a plentiful supply of snacks of both the savoury and chocolate variety. On this particular morning I was looking for a sugar rush to help with the journey ahead and approaching the machine I immediately noticed it was well stocked with both types of snack, most were well known brands and were laid out within the machine in a clear and comprehensive way. Having decided on some Peanut M&M’s my attention was drawn to the operating instructions, which were clear and easy to follow but were only displayed in English, so this could cause a problem for some visitors.
Having fed the machine an amount of money that exceeded the purchase cost I made my selection by pressing a button with the corresponding code number. The machinery went into action and simultaneously dropped my purchase into a tray at the bottom of the machine whilst at the same time dispensing my change into another smaller tray a little higher up the machine, excellent service and very smooth operation.

On collecting my product it was cool, which obviously suggested there was some type of internal refrigeration to keep the products cool and fresh and avoid heat damage from the internal lights used to display the goods. On checking the use by date it was good at Apr 2027, so I confidently opened the packet, which gave a bit of a struggle but as a regular to M&M’s I knew exactly where its weak spot was. Packet opened first one out was green, do they all taste the same, I will leave that conundrum to the individual, you know best. The texture was crisp at the shell, smooth chocolate and then the crispness again of the peanut, most enjoyable.

Would I use this vending machine again? Yes
Would I recommend it to others? Yes – but be cautious, stick to products you know,. Too often when presented with such a wide range of choice we can often stray from our comfort zones and believe there is a better alternative!

Like Martyn, I also enjoy some of those reviews parodied by G&T.
Having said that, 1st day back at work after a Ryder Cup long weekend and I definitely needed cheering up.
    Brilliant G&T ……now back to the grindstone : )
