I’m on my second reading of “Skyfaring – A Journey with a Pilot” by Mark Vanhoenacker, an excellent book about the business of flying. I’ve also read “Fly by Wire – The Geese, The Glide and The Miracle on the Hudson” by William Langewiesche about four times.

As frequent flyers and travellers, do you ever read this type of book or prefer something non-travel related?

Non-travel related, in fact the more I forget I am on an aircraft the better 🙂

William Langewiesche’s dad, Wolfgang, wrote a classic tome about the art of flying ‘Stick and Rudder’, worth a read if you’d like to know more about manipulating the controls of a heavier than air flying machine.

I read a snippet of Vanhoenacker’s book, the snippet was the best part, I found the remainder rather self indulgent and rather turgid.

I’m currently reading the Maisky Diaries, the Big Short and Haunted London Underground!

I also love Beyond the Blue Horizon by Alexander Frater.

But to answer your question Poshgirl I tend to read what I have started rather than choose a particular novel for a journey. As I love travel and finance my library mainly consists of those subjects.
