The Dreamliner: 7 1/2 years from launch order to first delivery

According to ANA the carrier made its first order for the Dreamliner in April 2004, meaning it took around 7 1/2 years from the launch customer order to the launch delivery. Is that a record for a new aircraft?

Does anyone know when ANA were originally told to expect delivery?

Not sure if worst but it seems to have become part of modern life. I remember a380 was seriously delayed and a350 went back to the drawing board.
