Have noticed that the F lounge at Terminal 5 seems to be getting progressively busier (maybe it is just me)… however I used the lounge on Sunday and I was shocked. The place was a complete zoo. There was no seats… dirty/empty plates and glasses everywhere… very few staff floating about… it really wasn’t a pleasant experience. The plate of food I got, I had to take it down the back corner business centre to eat it as it was the only seat I could find. But it was more the untidiness that really put me off. I really hope this doesn’t continue.

It does depend on the time of day, though.

I was in the F lounge this morning from 630am until 730am and it was fine, but from experience, an hour later it can be packed, and Sunday evening is always busy. So much so I go to Satellite B

Yes appreciate the time of the day is a big factor – just don’t understand why they don’t staff adequately to at least clear away the empty/dirty plates/glasses etc. Oh well its the small things…

It definitely depends on time of day.

I would have thought that overall BA Gold card holder numbers would have decreased a little now that the continental europe lower threshold requirement honeymoon has pretty much ended.

Have they put the menus back out in full display? Last time I was in there about six weeks ago you had to ask for one as it seemed they were encouraging people to use the buffet.

Not there this morning, no. But lots of staff. Never enough toilets, though. Apologies to the gentlemen I walked in on. Those door locks are very tricky!

I cant remember the last time I saw the Menus. If you know what you want – I like the kippers – when asked for they have been produced. I also find that the lounge is relatively quiet first thing – not only in passengers but also staff

Same. I haven’t seen the menus in a long time.

I was there twice over the weekend before last – menus there both times as we ordered off them both times. Plenty of staff to take oders and the delivery was fast as well.

I wonder if maybe there are certain (busy) times of day they hide the menus? I just hope it’s not the start of doing away with the food to order.

Has anyone visited the new ‘Concorde bar’ at SIN yet? I see DXB is next on the cards for this new model. Although it’s just a bar – no dining? I just hope it doesn’t come at the expense of separate First lounges around the network as Gold card holders/Emeralds are not admitted to the Concorde bar. SIN has no separate lounge for golds/emeralds now. I wonder if this will continue to be the theme across the network.

Qantas seem to have taken the same path but saying that they have only consolidated their First and Business Class lounges in cities (HKG and SIN) where they don’t offer a year round First Class service. And their Business Class lounges are far superior generally than BA’s anyway – pretty much on par with BA’s First lounges actually. If not better.

I hope to visit the DXB Concorde Bar if its open when I fly back near the end of November , it’s was in BT news 01/09/15 that it would open by the end of the year , so might be lucky ??
I also wonder if this Concorde Bar format might be at the new BA lounge at LGW when it moves next year ? There aren’t an awful lot of F flights from LGW , but would be an idea for those who are travelling in F to have an exclusive lounge for drinks ?

The D concourse opening at DXB is now postponed until about February 2016, so you won’t be able to into the new lounge sadly.

I don’t use the lounge but i’d suggest keep asking for the menus otherwise they’ll use the excuse of no demand to remove them!

I agree, I am typing this from the lounge, its too busy, not enough staff at busy times. Certainly no menus on display to day and to top it off there is a 2 HOUR, yes 2 hour wait to use the showers, as they only have 5 showers working and a huge queue (as usual) for the toilets…BA can and should do much better…

I know I’m being a bit cheeky here,, and I can’t comment, primarily because I’ve never experienced the pleasure and exclusivity of flying first…….But,

Can I just check, you’ve got the title of this topic right……

FIRST lounge, for 1st class passengers, passengers who pay a whack of money to separate them from the hoards in Club World etc…. . : )
