Starwood Platinum devalued thanks to Delta?

Sounds like SPG Platinum members are receiving the short end of the stick!!! Why should Delta SkyMiles Diamond and Platinum Medallion members be entitled to “an upgrade to an enhanced room at check-in, when available” when SPG Platinum members are NOT entitled to an upgrade on Delta?!?!? As an SPG Platinum Member and Lifetime Gold Member, this is a slap in the face to those loyal to Starwood! It will now limit our upgrade opportunities! Plus, who wants to fly Delta?

janrotterdamParticipantJetcruise – like you I am Platinum and Lifetime Gold….and I agree with your comments….the Starwood program is still one of the leaders in the business, but it is rapidly watering down.
I spent quite a lot of nights this year already in Marriott, and I like both the hotels and their loyalty program……10 Feb 2013

MartynSinclairParticipantJust spoke to a friend who is one of the moderators on Flyertalk (SPG) and he commented that the upgrade for Delta members is for enhanced rooms, (corner rooms or better positioned rooms) not for suites.

JetcruiserParticipant@janrotterdam – I love SPG and for that matter SLH “The Club” treats you extremely well. It does seem that SPG just raised the bar last year with their new Lifetime offerings and now they are diluting our drink a bit?
Thanks MartinSinclair for the clarification on the “enhanced rooms”! I just hope they make that a bit clearer on their website and in their email communications. So no word on “enhanced seat selection” on Delta then?
