LuganoPirateParticipantThings seem to be improving at Ryanair and they seem to be catering for what business travellers want, flexibly, priority boarding etc. I wonder when one of us contributors will give it a try and report here.

LuganoPirateParticipantI agree MrMichael. In my case Bergamo is a bit of a trek compared to Malpensa, but for some friends whose daughter lives close to where Ryanair serves Oslo the trek out to Bergamo is worth it.
Interesting review Tom. I see with the standard fare you can buy most of the business advantages when I checked except you have a priority boarding, check in at a counter and flexibility in changing the return. Not sure about the outbound however.

Done as an advertisement, the sketch went something like this…….” Now flying from Glasgowish Airport to destinations all over Europe including Osloish, Milanish, Brusselsish and even Barcelonaish , and remember to book our handy coach transfers to get to where you really want to go.”
And to be fair to them, they are now flying from quite a few proper airports ! The EDI to DUB service is adequate for my needs.

MrMichaelParticipantI am guessing Canucklad, the coach tranfers were more expensive than the flight ticket.
In Ryanairs defence, (I have never used them, nor have any pecuniary interest) it is flying from somewhat obscure airports that helped them build their whole business model.
One example would be Frankfurth Hahn, where they probably paid less than half than they would at FRA and able to have a turnaround in a great deal less than they would at the real Frankfurt Airport. I am sure that has been replicated all over Europe as Canucklad and others have alluded to.

LuganoPirateParticipantI don’t fly them and likely never will, but millions do and Ryanair has a business model which works and they are profitable. It seems no matter where the airports are located it suits many people so good luck to them and may they continue to prosper.
