Qantas unveiled the new uniform to be rolled out across the company in early 2014, designed by Martin Grant. It was launched with a full ‘runway’ catwalk show.

Certainly plenty of variety in it – I love the detail on the soles of the shoes.

    Nice

Up to the neck and below the knee…..those scarfs can easily go around the head.

The hat and coat combo looks almost like an Abaya.

Shows real cultural sensitivity. Was it done to meet the approval of their soon to be new owners, EK?

Alas it may never be seen in the UK.

Looks good a bit like the Virgin Australia uniform.

Hmm. I prefer the current version.

I also prefer the current version although I’ll hold judgement until I see it for myself live.

Binman, your continued anti-QF diatribe is tedious and, as usual, factually wrong.

Australian law does not allow EK (or any foreign entity) to own QF. Therefore EK is not buying QF. In fact, it owns no shares in QF at all. And QF most certainly is not abandoning LHR. In fact, the continuance of services to LHR was one of the key elements of Australian government approval for the service agreement with EK.

I’m surprised you didn’t also continue to peddle your usual misinformation about QF leaving oneworld (which is not happening either).

What on earth did QF do to you that brings on such bile from you so repeatedly?

I used to think you added something useful to this site and I respected your views on things. I no longer feel that way, because of your campaign of deliberate misinformation about QF. You are factually WRONG. Desist.

As an Australian, now living abroad, I rarely fly Qantas these days and have no overwhelming desire to do so (it’s more to do with the fact that I find the Australian accent grating).

But that doesn’t detract from the fact that QF is an excellent airline by world standards. It’s aircraft are relatively new, the quality of its product consistent, I’d feel 100% safe flying with them (note the excellent handling of the QF31 A380 incident by the flight crew) and I think, together with Virgin Australia, are good ambassadors for Australia.

Are they the best. No. But who is?

Qantas suffers from what we in Australia call ‘tall poppy syndrome’.

So even though I don’t fly them personally much any more, I’d have no problems recommending them to anyone flying to Australia.

Dreadful new uniform. What has pink got to do with the Qantas brand? Nothing. Also the gents ties are terrible.

    Touchy….

I used to think Australians had a sense of humour…….

Great stylish uniform, Martin Grant has done well. It reflects his international standing, he is based in Paris and has created a truly sophisticated international look. Miranda Kerr looked absolutely stunning on the cat walk. The uniforms have received rave reviews in Australia.

Good on you QF the only way is forward from now on. Looking forward to the unveiling of the new design of the to be refurbished A330 next year.

The uniforms, taking out the pink and red, look like a cheap copy of Air France’s

Does anyone know if there will be a difference between CSMs/managers and other crew?

I rather like it, well apart from the pink scarves that look like they clash with everything else. The hats are particularly smart.
