Problem with BA seat free selection?

As an Exec Silver member the seat selection is normally free. I just tried to do a booking and although it states as a Silver member the seat booking is free, it won’t let me make a booking without imposing a fee, i.e £35 per passenger each way LHR to JFK. Is anyone experiencing such a problem, or is it me ( I have definitely logged on properly)? Thanks

I had the same problem earlier this week. However, if you complete and pay for the booking, then go back into Manage my Account,you can then book seats free of charge.

I also had the same problem abut did exactly the same as mancvboy to reserve my seats

I have not had any problems today. I was able to request and confirm seats with no issues.

I have noticed a couple of times recently I have booked into a particular seat and a few days I notice I have been moved.

Does it not take the seat fee at that stage ? Didnt make a booking today because of that and didnt phone exec club cos complicated due to shareholders discount !

Found the same bug. Reserved seats for free after paying. (BAEC Gold)

went through with a longhaul booking – seats were shown and chargeable during the booking process, but payment to credit card was net of seat charges..

Other problems

1. seats reserved were changed within minutes

2. Manage my Booking goes directly to online check in, so now cant check that the seats I changed back to (the original seats) have been held…
