    Hi everyone,

I am a master’s degree student in international business of the University of Greenwich, UK looking for your help completing my survey as part of my thesis discussing airline alliances marketing performance.

This is intended for any traveller aware of global airline alliances.

The form is pretty straightforward and seamless, lasting around 2 minutes to fill according to other respondents:

    Thank you very much 🙂

Also done, I surprised myself at how negatively I scored alliances, and how little they mean to me !

Agreed, but then I am from before the ‘alliance era’ and don’t feel that they provide anything of worth that wasn’t already there.

They were set up to influence consumer behaviour by driving clients to their members, not to provide more choice, which was okay when the quid pro quo (FF schemes) offered decent benefits, but these days I just buy on convenience and vfm.

    Done.

I was intrigued by the question on airline safety. I understand where you’re coming from in that major Alliances can insist on member airlines upping their safety standards before they join, witness EgyptAir, Turkish and Kenya, but has it made them safer as surely that’s down to the culture of the airline and in particular the crew operating the flight and the ground staff handling the plane?

Good point, especially as airlines very rarely try to use safety as a differentiator for obvious reasons.

Thank you everyone for completing the survey and providing your feedback (@FDOS_UK)! I am still looking for more respondents, so please keep participating if you did not yet !

@LuganoPirate I added the question on safety as it may influence consumer choice, but not as a main component of airline alliances added values, all the more concerning the FF population.

Other than that, I should be closing the survey soon as we approach the sample I was looking for.
The tool I’m using allows me to generate user-friendly results (although still raw data). I will provide you with a link in the next days to let you see and discuss the results if you want to!

The survey is now closed, thank you very much for your participation!

As promised, please find below the link directing to the generated report:

I will only leave the access during the next week or so, as I don’t want my work to be available forever on the internet…Feel free to take a look anyway!
