Is it just me or …….

At the gate I get it that those with small children’ and needed some extra assistance rightly get priority followed by FIrst however it then becomes a shoving match as they then open up to all Exec Club card holders. I thought Gold meant something, however I find myself pushing elbows with Bronze card holders. Normally in life I don’t seek status however this is about revenue given. My company has paid considerably over the last twelve years for it to now be comparable to a new EXec club member on their first flight. Don’t get me wrong we have all been there however…..as I say is it just me being too precious or what?

It has been discussed at length on this forum before but the frustration is no less now than when they brought it in. Its easier to list who doesn’t have priority boarding on a BA flight than who does and the benefit is completely worthless although now with the onset of hand-baggage only fares, those travelling in economy short haul may see it as more of a benefit.

I think BA based its policy on who can have priority boarding on a line in Blackadder when Melchet explains who has access to details of a top secret mission…..

“List of personnel cleared for mission…..: You and me, Darling, obviously. Field Marshal Haig, Field Marshal Haig’s wife, all Field Marshal Haig’s wife’s, friends, their families, their families’ servants, their
families’ servants’ tennis partners, and some chap I bumped into the mess the other day called Bernard.”

To which Blackadder replies “so sir, only myself and the rest of the English speaking world is to know.”
