New arrivals lounge AUH

Arrived in AUH yesterday morning from Manchester. I was travelling in business and was going straight to a meeting in Abu Dhabi on arrival so I did the usual trying to wash and brush up in the cramped surroundings of the forward 777 toilet.

When I passed through customs at AUH I noticed in the right hand corner before the exit ramp travellator Etihad Arrival Lounge. I went over and was surprised to find what I always thought was missing from Etihad’s excellent service and that was in fact an arrivals lounge.

I was told that it has opened a few days earlier without any fanfare. I was then able to take a proper rain shower, have a decent breakfast with a chef waiting to take any order to prepare freshly. The rest of the lounge was exactly as Etihad’s excellent departure lounges.

So no more struggling in the plane toilets to look respectable.
