I’ve just noticed this week that the first class carriages on the HSTs of First Great Western have been renumbered. They used to be coaches G & H but now they are K & L. The standard class coaches are still A to F. I also noticed at Bath station that the platform also has signs for coaches K & L now instead of G & H.

I know that there is a plan to increase the number of coaches on FGW but the fact that this renumbering has taken place now suggests that the new longer trains are imminent. Does anyone know anything about this?

lol … Edinburgh trams … £700m for a service not serving the Waverley railway station. Use Haymarket for tram connection. Congratulations to Network Rail for excluding taxis from the most inaccessible large station on the network, and destroying a taxi rank built in 1840 for the maximum inconvenience of rail-taxi transfer.
