A huge step backwards. To see the pro-active online upgrades you now need to switch to a desktop browser! WTF!

Harder to read text, but a blurry picture of London behind. I don’t need a picture of London. I want an app that lets me do things.

Now it looks more like a sales brochure for holidays with slow loading pictures of all the destination for the occasional traveler. They don’t need the app. And I don’t want to have to download more data out and about in a hurry.

I have to say I completely disagree – I love the new app. I imagine they’ve excluded some functionality like pro-active upgrades which they’ll likely roll out as an update soon – I hope they do.

Overall I think it’s swish and contemporary with lots of useful features. Can only comment on the iPhone version though (using an iPhone 5S).

The upgrade functions simply don’t work.

I don’t get the option to upgrade on any of my bookings. It might be because they’re a mix of travel agency, avios and bookings in Club Europe which can’t obviously be upgraded – might be worth leaving a review on the App store and see how quickly a fix/update is rolled out!

Both my phones updated the app today. Using Galaxy 4 and Note 3. Too early to tell yet but seems to be somewhat cluttered whereas I prefer simplicity in apps.
    We will see….

I think the new app is nice with what seems like a bit more personal touch on it. I’m always up for change and see what new features are added. The way its designed is the way many developers are choosing to go now with the clean white look.

Couple down points are i seem to have lost the ability to have a widget on my home screen (quick whip up of the boarding pass) on android and also there is a fair bit of scrolling. I have 10 sectors in the course of a 6 week window and its a bit of a hassle to scroll so much due to the extra white space. I would have like to seen it a bit more compact on a mobile device.

I have a galaxy note 3 and the screen is big but still seems not big enough.

I think the new app is absolutely fantastic! Upgrades only ever worked for those flying simple flight from/to London anyway (never offered them when connecting from the regions) so no difference to the website there.

Love the UI and the photos of destinations.

As with all things new, it takes a while to get used to but I have had a good play with it now and actually prefer it to the previous app.

Likewise, I do not seem to have problems doing the things I need to do (which does not test the full range of functionality) on the new app.

After a few sort weeks, I find the new app to be in much better shape than many of the shabby old 747’s still in use…..
