Gin&TonicParticipant“BA app that could mean you never miss a flight again: Passengers will be told if they have enough time to get to the gate from any location in an airport”
Can you imagine that those who would really need this app would use it and miss valuable drinking time at the bar or buying that last purchase in duty free while the remainder of us sit and wait on the aircraft?

LuganoPirateParticipantIf from overseas it only works if you have data roaming on.
Likewise it needs to have the volume turned up to hear the warning, something which Mrs.LP doesn’t seem to realise is needed in order to hear the phone ring, warble or whatever!

JeffDParticipantOh dear……..
I can there being a lot of late boarders coming on with lots of hand luggage which will be a nightmare for the crew to stow and flights leaving the gate late. Whatever happened to looking at the departure boards and arriving at the gate on time ?6 May 2016

747foreverforusParticipantI have a very simple way to ensure I never miss a flight, turn up in plenty of time and watch the departure screens – quite simple really

Indeed. Having just got myself an iPhone 6 and being bombarded with suggestions that I download and install this app or that, I am asking myself how on earth did I manage when I needed to able to read a map, work out the hands on a clock dial and tie up my own shoelaces.

Yesterday, I needed to book a flight to Gothenburg and thought I would try BA – so the quote came back for £480 in restricted eco, from Heathrow (as I’ll be flying from London).
That seemed higher than I’d wish to pay, so I thought I’d do a Martyn Sinclair and cash in some Avios for a reward flight saver – on multiple occasions, over a 3 hour period, I got a systems error.
Eventually, with the client asking for my arrangements, I looked at Skyscanner for alternatives and found (to my surprise) that Ryanair have changed airports and now fly to Landvetter GOT, rather than City GSE.
I booked flights out and back, hand luggage, no seat or priority boarding (don’t need it on a 1h30 hop) for £9.99 outbound and £8.09 back.
My Dragonpass will provide lounge access.
BA are their own worst enemies.
