Just flown two Club World sectors. Decided not to have dinner as the menu promises nice goodies in the Club Kitchen to graze on. Went to the galley later to hit the Club Kitchen offerings, for a snack….Nothing, empty. So on the first flight I asked the steward if the offerings had not been loaded ex-LHR. Nope…BA have stopped the nice snacks on night flights! Confirmed on the return…nothing there. All that is available are crisps, chocolate and ice cream…same as economy.
I asked the CSM to confirm this and she did. She asked me to write and complain as so many passengers had complained in the few days since it has been removed.

When will BA management realise that their premium product is, to say the least, very basic? This sort of decision just makes things worse…but hey who cares, it saves money!

They could save more money by removing blankets, serviettes, pillows, metal cutlery…………!

Openfly – Do the hand out menu’s in CW reflect the changes BA have made? OR do they still ‘sell’ you on the delights to be found in the galley – “an area designed specifically for you”

It seems that where other carriers are boosting their Business class offerings, BA is continually reducing them. I hope WW is confident enough that just flying the flag will be enough to attract passengers to the carrier?

Next time you fly CW, just glance around the cabin to see how many passengers are bringing their own food parcels, especially ex Heathrow…

Seasonedtraveller – are you referring to the “array of indulgent treats and healthy options from our Club Kitchen that you can help yourself to, throughout the flight.

There are lots of things to choose from including healthy nibbles, fresh fruit, wraps and ice cream. Other British favourites include Teoni’s handmade shortbread and Cadbury’s chocolate.

Enjoy a little of what you fancy.”

It’s probably in the small print that this is only available for flights departing Heathrow between 03.00 and 03.30.

……and then only available when there is an “R” in the month…..

As an enhancement, that has now been changed to months containing the letter F 🙂

……a significant saving as there are only 28 days in February…………..

    Indeed I was………..

By contrast, I flew Business with SAS last week from ARN to ORD and, aside from BA having a better seat (lie flat as opposed to angled), the service including the food, was excellent overall & I would even say, an improvement over my recent BA CW trips.

SAS seem to be trying to improve their offering rather than devalue….

Indeed esselle. Leap years only, naturally.

Seasonedtraveller …. Yes….still handing out the menus telling me how wonderful. It does say however that ” sometimes not everything is available”. It doesn’t say ” nothing of any nutritional value is now available”!!

There was a post from a crew member some while ago which said in roundabout terms that they would routinely turn a blind eye to economy pax sneaking into the J galley and nicking the snacks, so maybe this is a BA enhancement to stop J pax being short changed by Y pax nicking all their stuff………….sorry, just a touch bored this evening……..

What a joke !!!! BA only turns a blind eye when pax from traveller plus on a MidJ 747 help themselves from club snack kitchen as that cabin is sandwiched between club and first .otherwise its nearly impossible to gain access to the club kitchen .
one more thing is that BA doesn’t like negative feedback from customers or its employes,,the BA regime is very strict in that department .
well more cut backs on the way anyway and if you don’t like it well BA is not interested in staff and customer complaining about there fabulous product !!!!! happy days ahead ,indeed “to fly to serve”

Some of the club kitchen food used to be better than the main food offering. I remember enjoying some really delicious hot vegetarian food from the club kitchen, but today, it seems that whatever flight I take, whether its USA or ASIA, always seems to be the wrong time of the day….

What they do have now appears to be the leftovers from Waitrose .. (or is it Sainsbury’s)…
