I Have just flown the newly configured B747 with the new seat and fixed bed option.

This comes with all new furnishings including a far superior IFE product with a 17 in screen as part of their suite product as defined by every seat now having a half size bulkhead around the area.

They have somply set aside for eaqch passenger teh area formerly devoted to two seat.

The fixed bed against the window is very comforable and versatile as a large desk space should you want to sit in your own seat. Hard to beat, better than all others

Whilst I have not flown on the newly configured FST product of LH, but judging from the photos and blurb they pre-released on the product, I can't for the life of me understand what they were thinking. A seat and a bed. So now after dinner and I want to sleep, I have to haul myself out of the seat and get the bed made up and move there. Isn't one of the (few) pleasures of flying these days, the ability to finish the meal or watching the movie and then push a button and go to sleep on a flat bed. I think the Germans have messed up on this one. A case of a little too smart ..

At home do you recline your chair after dinner and sleep there for the night? I generally get up and go to bed.

The new seats in LH F are excellent, a real move forward in terms of comfort and space. Incorporate the new concept into a suite and it would be ground breaking. Perhaps if you haven't tried it you may want to before being negative about it?

Comparing my eating/sleeping habits at home to an aircraft environment is a bit rich .. I was negative because it doesn't appeal to me at all .. and that means i won't be trying it ... lots of things in this world I haven't personally tried but I am certainly negative about ... spending a week in Kandahar would be one of them ..
