Hey all,
Its time that the travel agent amongst us (me!) earns his pennies. In these harsh economic times, everyone is trying to save a buck or 10 so hopefully I have the answer.
For those of you who's travel originates in the UK and travel in premium economy, business and first class, get in touch to see if I can save you money - I have some special fares that no other agents have.
At least try me out - if I can't save you a significant amount, the least I'll do is save you £10.
on_da_sly - 08/01/2009 12:08 GMT
Ok, I'll bite.
I'm thing of taking my girlfriend to NY over the last weekend in Jan (Jan 29th - Feb 2nd).
The best price I can get with BA (I'm a FF) is £6010 return for both of us - can you do any better?
Gin&Tonic - 08/01/2009 13:55 GMT
on_da_sly, dont make it so easy, stipulate which London and New York airports, and preffered time of travel, and direct only.
JoshuaP - 08/01/2009 16:50 GMT
So you are a personal TMC - i like it. Do you do domestic and European trains too?
LondonGuy - 08/01/2009 19:34 GMT
Hi on_da_sly - thanks for trying me out,
Here is what I have for you:
With BA, the best price I am getting is £4961 for 2 adults.
This fare is available on all the outbound BA flights from both London Heathrow and London Gatwick to both JFK and Newark except the 18.40 flight leaving London Heathrow and arriving into Newark.
For the return flight, the fare is available on all flights out of JFK and Newark into both London Heathrow and London Gatwick.
Let me know if you'd like any other information - thanks again!
LondonGuy - 08/01/2009 19:36 GMT
Hi Joshua,
I can do domestic flights and European trains too - I don't get as much of a saving on these as the international options. Try me out all the same to see.

Hi,
Travelling to Tokyo or would consider Osaka around 6/6 for 10 days. 2 adults, business or first. Can be flexible by a couple weeks if it makes any difference...Please advise, Regards
on_da_sly - 09/01/2009 09:31 GMT
Hi Bonusking,
I've had a look 06th - 16th June and unfortunately, I can't make you as much of a saving as I did for on_da_sly.
The best prices I can get are:
BA Business - £1992 per person
BA First - £3792 per person
I've also extended the search for 3 days either side and the price is the same so at the moment, the price is the lowest it can get.
If you prefer to fly Virgin Upper Class (between BA Business and First), I've got a price of £2845 per person - well worth it as VS Upperclass is superb! If you fly out 05th June and return 15th June, the price comes down to just under £2000 per person - even less than BA Business for a much better product.
If you've got something that is less than this, please let me know as it is our policy to price beat anything our competitors can get.
Let me know if you need more info - thanks!
LondonGuy - 09/01/2009 12:12 GMT
Oh wow! I was scepitcal initially but if you can really get me that I am impressed.
Email me on mailto:on.da.sly@googlemail.com">on.da.sly@googlemail.com and if you are legit, I'll book it today.
Cheers!

So correct me if I'm wrong but On-da-sly and London Guy is the same guy (and you seem to have swapped persona throughout this thread)... nice try but you've been rumbled...
Nice spot JoshuaP - maybe you can save us money instead?
viking01 - 09/01/2009 14:25 GMT
Hats off to the guy for being an entrepreneur !
Don't let them put you off on_da-sly, use London Guy, I'm convinced he'll get you a good price.
bonusking - 09/01/2009 22:44 GMT
Hi, Thanks for that. I am a ba shareholder, so can get very similar fares with them. I will look at virgin upper class and let you know. Have travelled uc before on a few occasions, but it can be hit and miss at times.
LondonGuy - 10/01/2009 10:32 GMT
Well and truly busted!
I'm not as smart as I thought I was - but you got to give me credit for trying. These economically harsh times do call for ingenuity and you have to say that barring the lack of concentration, I'd done pretty well up until that point?
And just to let you know - all the fares that I did quote are 100% genuine - especially the NYC one - anyone wanting that, it is there for your taking.
But on a more serious note, I honestly can save you money so please, even if it is just a quote, ask me for one and I'll happy give you our best price and hopefully save you a packet in the process - no other agent gets the rates that we get in the premium cabins so it is no contest!
And at the very least, I hope this thread did provide a bit of post-festive season merriment for all!
LondonGuy - 12/01/2009 21:03 GMT
Ok, heres another recession halting fare for all you keen-eyed punters:
London-Beijing direct on BA Business Class
Depart 18th Jan
Return 22nd Jan
Best alternative fare on BA?
Expedia - £4626.80
Kayak - £4556
BA direct - £4616
My fare - £3996 and this includes 3 nights at the 5-star Shangri-La's Kerry Centre in Beijing.
If that doesn't whet ones appetite for cheaper business class travel, nothing will!
Happy travelling all...
LondonGuy - 14/01/2009 22:35 GMT
Going...going...gone!
Sold to the gentleman and the front with the big grin* on his face.
*as a result of him saving in the region of £1000. Terms and conditions don't apply.

What can you do for two seats Business Class LHR-AMS round trip in a day late February or out one day back the next during the week.
Do the seats you get allow FF miles and tier points on both BA and KLM?
LondonGuy - 19/01/2009 15:50 GMT
Hi NTarrant,
Sorry for the delay - I was in Iceland for the weekend and only got the message today.
The best fare I can find is with BA. It is a day return (can also be a 1 night stay for the same price) on Feb 23rd (Monday).
Here are the details:
Outbound - 23rd Feb 2009
LHR (07.30) - AMS (09.45)
Return - 23rd Feb 2009
AMS (19.20) - LHR (19.40)
The total price (for 2 adults) I have for this is £601 and this includes 1 night at the HEM Hotel Amsterdam.
On BA.com, this would be £612.20 (2 adults) flight only.
Unfortunately, for Europe, the savings are not as big. Also, if you are still within the advanced purchase period, the prices are very similar to what you can get with BA directly.
For example, on 26th Jan (Monday), on the 11.40 flight out to AMS and the 21.20 flight back to LHR, I can get a fare of £636 including the 1 night at the same hotel. On BA.com, this would be £842.20 so here, I am making a significant saving. This price would also apply for a 1 night stay, coming back on the 07.25, 11.45, 14.50 or 21.20.
Also, with BA, you do get the full Executive Club points in Club Class (just spoke to a BA rep who confirmed this for me).
If you need any more info, you know where I am.

LondonGuy
Can you give me a price. Business Class. LGW or LHR to SYD.
Depart around 4th Septemeber for 2 weeks. Fairly flexible on dates.
Cheers.
LondonGuy - 26/01/2009 15:16 GMT
Hey mattpesket,
Here is what I have for you:
Emirates - £2760
The only leg that you are on the A380 would be the Sydney-Dubai return leg so the rest of the journey you won't have fully flat seats.
Qantas - £2899
If you want the A380 for the full journey, you'll have to leave on the morning of 5th and return on the 19th. If you don't mind, leaving on the 4th would be the same price and you'll still have the A380 on the full return flight.
Virgin Upper Class - £2999 (7 hour stop in Hong Kong)
Virgin Upper Class - £3048 (1.5 hour touchdown in Hong Kong)
Cathay Pacific - £2843 (short stops - less than 3 hours - in Hong Kong)
British Airways - £2899 (touchdowns - roughly 1.5 hrs in Singapore)
Let me know if you need any more information on any of these.
