This question may have been asked before, but not sure, so here goes. I am flying AA to DFW in a few weeks on their earlier flight departing T3 at 09h40, and was curious which lounge my fellow forum posters would suggest; the Flagship Lounge, BA First, or CX First? Are there any others that my BA Gold Card would give me access to (flying Business on AA)? I have only ever tried the BA First Lounge in T3. Your advice would be appreciated.

    Hi dutchyankee

I’ve only experienced the CX First lounge either mid-morning or evening so no idea what it’s like relatively early in the morning as far as the range of food on offer is concerned. However, the atmosphere and surroundings are very convivial and there is a very good view out on to the tarmac and runway. I’ve visited the BA First lounge quite often early in the morning and have had the place pretty much to myself. The range of food on offer is good.

Thanks SenatorGold, appreciate your insight. I think I will give the CX lounge a try, as everything with CX tends to be of a higher quality, and it will be something new. My better half also loves Asian style Breakfast so perhaps that will be something to look forward to in their lounge.

    dutchyankee,

on a slightly different point are you flying in J or F on this AA flight? I’ve seen quite a few avios redemptions to DFW in F on AA and wondered what it was like.

    Hi Bath_VIP,

We are flying in Business, paid ticket. On AA`s new 777-300, I wouldn`t pay nor use my Avios for their F product as the new J seats are superb, and the on board service is very similar between the two cabins, with really only the wines on offer being markedly different. The F seat is very good, but IMO does not warrant the much higher price tag when compared to their new J seat. Now if we are talking about their other J seat, then for sure, it is worth upgrading to F if possible as the angle flat J seat on their 772, 767, and 757 is probably fine for day time (as we did a month ago, also to DFW), but for a night flight, I would really want their new seats.
