SwissdiverParticipantGoing there in a few months. None of the hotels look inspiring… Has anyone a good recommendation to make? I am looking at one by the sea and preferably close to a scuba diving centre, for the week-end, and one, more business, for the work then. Note, it can be the same (like the Hilton in Nassau).

sparkyflierParticipantWhen I stayed in GCM I started at a a truly awful hotel, before moving to the Marriot, which is decent and well located (but not exciting). There are other hotels, like for example the Westin & RitzCarlton, but if you have meetings etc, then these are not so convenient. Lots of fish within 2 m of the shoreline and I recall the staff as very pleasant.
I prefer GCM to Nassau, which is pretty dull as a “city”, but the Hilton in Nassau as you know is the only hotel which is OK for meetings in Nassau, indeed within walking distance of the main businesses. The beach there is not great though as it is right next to the Cruise Ship terminal.

SwissdiverParticipantThanks. Marriott doesn’t look really exciting but I guess it is a safe choice…

SwissdiverParticipantWestin was great, also for meetings… I’ll write a full review on TA in the coming days…

sparkyflierParticipantHi Swissdiver good to hear your choice was a good one. It is a bit further out than the Marriott but glad it worked out for you. Out of interest, how did you get to GCM? On the BA 767 or via USA? I recall another discussion on which routing to take?

SwissdiverParticipantHalf answered actually. Because I flew BA on my way to Grand Cayman (direct with a 1 hour stop in Nassau). The reason of the MIA leg was because on d-day, there were no BA flight.
Regarding the return, there is also this:
