I am sitting down here in NZ drooling at the Sale prices to this part of the world in business class (less than GBP 2000). The sale is on here too(well sort of) but I have to pay close on GBP 4500 for the same ticket. Same applies too to many other airlines.

Is there any way I can use a UK travel agent to book and Auckland/London return to take advantage of these rates? I can pay in sterling, or will I simply be told they can only book London/auckland return?

If the latter, half of me says that this sort of global practice by the airlines is wholly unethical

I know someone will suggest I buy a single ticket to London and then buy returns from London, but given this is a family trip, this is not a practical option.

    Any thoughts hugely appreciated.

The Sale fare at the moment is Ex-UK. So even as a UK agency we couldn’t get the Sale fare for AKL-LHR-AKL sadly.

Tim – Sale aside, are you able (allowed) to competitively quote for flights to/from London out of NZ? Looking for 4 x Business class tickets with Malta side trip.

Absolutely – any agent in (most) places in world can sell tickets for travel in any part of the world. We might not have access to all the same fares however that you may find in the country of origin – as I know other posters on here have found when we have researched options. So I or any UK agent can certainly look for you – and then see how it compares locally.

I don’t know if an EK routing AKL-MLA and back from LON (or vv) would work – otherwise you may find a side trip using someone like Easyjet represents best value (and fewest flights).

Tim – EK routing via Malta would work too, though from here much more expensive from going to London with side trip to Malta. Happy to consider any EK, CX, SQ , Qatar, Etihad or Air NZ, though the latter horrendous from down here. Are you comfortable in providing your email and I can contact you directly.? Many thanks
