After using the excellent Etihad lounge, having taken a shower and given a facial shave, enjoyed the scrambled egg with haloumi and feta, with mackeral, headed to what has felt like our second home for the last few weeks gate 33 (2nd visit to Australia in 4 weeks).

Boarding efficient and offered champagne. Seated in the 2 middle seats as were traveling together. A party of 7 arrived, with what looked like parents and 2 children et al. They felt they should be seated together and the gentleman said to us about them being 7 and could we sit in the window single seats, we pointed out that we were travelling together (2 males) too, which was a conversation stopper!

The seating arrangement tend to favour singles or doubles and not larger parties. Push back about 2o minutes late, again enjoyed the front camera, short taxi and took off about a quarter of an a hour after departure.

Had ordered fruit and some more tea, then had a rest for a few hours. The food and beverage manager introduced himself (?Sameer) he was very polite and enthusiastic which shone through as well as the flight manager who made it clear to ask for anything we needed.

Ordered a gin and tonic with my lunch of celery and stilton soup arriving on time as requested. Had the barramundi with lots of green beans and potato cake, followed by the cheese course, with a glass of brancoat sauvignon, whilst watching Far from the madding crowd.

Later ordered a white filter coffee, arrived slightly early at LHR, the e gates worked well and luggage was again very prompt for LHR, well done EY
