EASYJET

As a loyal easyjet passenger I was appalled by staff attitude at boarding gate during my recent trip to Athens. It was a GTW-ATH flight and most passengers complied with the one piece of hand luggage rule, although many airlines allow an additional ladies handbag. The latest saga is the size of the cabin luggage. We all had to place our luggage in the easyjet orange basket horizontaly and if that was ok THEN vertically where if it did not easily fall in, they automatically checked case in the aircraft and in some cases asked for luggage fee.I asked to speak to supervisor as my case is a special cabin one by Samsonite. Other passengers made same request to no avail. Finally they passed me the phone to speak to her. When I asked her name ,she refused to give it! When I asked for her to come to the gate and measure my case, she refused. I was terribly polite even when her reply was " I tell you what we will do madam; we will off load you and your daughter from the flight as that would be the easiest!" Another passenger who did not manage to contain her temper verbally was promptly offloaded although she had a connecting flight in Athens.I used to be Easyjets biggest fan and supporter but after a couple of bad experiences I have to conclude that Anonimity or shall I say cowardice,Blackmail and Monopoly seem to be words describing Easyjet!! Very sad for what potentially could have been a great way to travel ,short haul.

For goodness sake take a deep breath and calm down. This is easyjet you're talking, not a friggin Learjet or Concorde.

Sorry Spartan with EasyJet You Get What You Pay For !!!!

I can't say that I had the pleasure of travelling onboard a Learjet or Concorde but by the sounds of it, nor have you, otherwise you wouldn't use them in the same breath as easyjet. I only expect basic service from A to B with this carrier. This doesn't mean that they have to be rude and arrogant to passengers! Fares on this route are not particularly cheap. Next time I travel to this destination I shall use Aegean Airlines. A little more expensive than easyjet but still cheaper than both BA or Olympic with great service and a happy, polite and good looking crew.

Perhaps, but hardly a universal solution. And why do the crew have to be good looking? That's hardly the attitude for a Spartan. More up my street, really

Agree with Spartan - - - I have enjoyed flying with Easyjet. The ease of online booking, speedy boarding, price, the rest of it - NO COMPLAINTS!! I wasn't expecting any frills - I wasn't paying for them. However last time I travelled the attitude of the check in staff was disgraceful and totally disrespectful!!!! They are in a service industry and if the staff are trained to be so abrupt and bullying, there will be many more people like Spartan and I that will pay a little extra to be treated with a little more respect. I don't believe the founder would be impressed with this level of attention to his clientele.

In the end, you get what you pay for. And cheap doesn't always mean cheerful.

What is that old saying...? Ah... If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.

Now there's an interesting banner at the top of the BT site. Easy's new advert a 15 minute promise of being ontime or a free ONE WAY flight, with caveats.

If anyone claims for this, please post the experience. One way is better than no way and is a very usable option.

Clever marketing, lets see how accurate it is - can you imagine a similar BA offer.................
