Now I really like children but am not a father. I have some issues mind you it’s probably more like the parents,
When families are allowed to board early with kids, totally understand but not some 11’year old slouching past me in me in a hoodie.
Ever sat on a long flight with kids k the Amah and the parents are up in first. Not great either. And people with young kids, I can imagine it’s all a bit stressful but after you’re boarded early when we get off you are actually meant to wait until were all off the plane then you can unload your many bags. Thoughts?

Get over yourself. That would be my main thought.

SimonS1. – I think you need to get over yourself.

Have a look at your log of entries – how rude can one man get? Not enough to do at work?

Let people have their view and if you don’t agree – belt up

Now perhaps a more considered view!

I agree with much of what you say – the early boarding system can be abused, adolescents are not children.

However not all 10-12 year olds are physiologically the same so it must be difficult for airlines to have a consistent policy

I do however confess to travelling in a different cabin to my children on occasion – sorry!!

Thank you Intheair. I have given myself a good belting on the way back from the sauna and feel a lot better for it ๐Ÿ™‚

Depending on who you are dealing with most organisations would define a child as up to 16 or 18 so the “slouching 11 year old in a hoodie” (no stereotyping there then) would be included on most measures.

As for the OP’s point about “you are actually meant to wait until we are all off the plane then you can unload your many bags” (again nothing like a good bit of stereotyping). Aside of the fact that this is complete nonsense (says who??) I have seen many business travellers carrying considerably more baggage.

When the OP says “I have some issues” I can see where he/she is coming from……

In which our correspondent makes a special request to parents travelling with their children โ€“ strap them in and shut them up…

Before we begin, may I state for the record that I donโ€™t have a problem with children โ€“ especially when they are muzzled. Believe it or not, I was once one myself, and were I not one of those abhorrent women that decided they preferred globe-trotting to babysitting, I may even have tried motherhood out.

No, itโ€™s children who interrupt my travelling life that I have a problem with โ€“ or, more specifically, the parents of such children, who as I see it fall into the following categories:

    The hard-of-hearing parent

    You all know this one….
