Was woken at 0009 this morning by a text from EZY telling me my flight was cancelled. No reason given and GLA staff not even aware of this when I tried to check in on the 0635 to STN. Unacceptable without compensation for missed hotel breakfast, missed meeting etc.

You may wish consider EU261, I think it may apply in this case.

Why were you trying to check in if you knew it had been cancelled?

I have just been woken up by a text (4am in the morning) from BA saying that my flight to AMS from LGW at 11am this morning has been cancelled. Not good.

Jackanory, unfortunate, yes but flights do get cancelled, fact of life. Surely much, much better to know in advance and, hopefully, you can plan around alternative arrangements that the airline will presumably make.

@mkco – I rebooked on the 0635 which had space but missed a meeting because of this as I had to be home for the evening. There are normally only 3 flights GLA/STN. So while EZY got me home, it was most inconvenient – missing six hours sleep, hotel breakfast etc

Yes, I know it’s a minor thing in the grand scheme of things just frustrating as the only flight they could offer is 5 hours later. Oh well, hopefully their LGW aircraft/crewing issues will be resolved soon.

Stewart, I think I’d have been tempted to have my meeting as planned then take the train which to London is less than 5 hours. Obviously I don’t know what time your meeting was our where you had to be that evening but I would have considered it.

I did think about this but actually Glasgow to Peterborough is at least 5.30 and then another 30 minute train journey to Ely and a 15 minute taxi ride – and oh damn! my car’s at STN….

I see now that would be inconvenient. I thought maybe you live in London.

@Jackanory…..Have you questioned BA on your cancellation? There are no LGW-AMS-LGW cancellations listed for the last week. (Thebasource.com) Could it be that the flight was overbooked and they just dumped you?

openfly, BA2760/1 is shown as cancelled if you click on the “read more”.

    Also cancelled on flightradar.
