    Hi
Looking to book some business class flights to singapore flying out mid Jan back early feb.
Does anybody know if there are going to be any special business class offers coming up- not sure whether to book now or hold off.
Any advice would be appreciated. Best price found so far is with emirates £4k for two people.
Sorry, I don’t seem to be able to repost at the moment so have had to amend this post. Looking to travel 16/01 back 01/02 – have some flexibility but catching a cruise from sin on the 18/01. We have no affiliation with any airline (usually fly virgin upper class but of course they don’t fly to sin) have seen cheaper fares with some of the airlines mentioned but not sure on the quality of these airlines e.g air india jet airways?

£2K each business is a good rate. I use Sin and Hkg a lot business and pleasure, I rarely see any deals that are much better than what you can get in advance. Finnair also have some good prices on Sin, cabin and service not as good as Emirates but its a really fast transit.

Difficult to help you without more details about your desired trip.
Air India and Jet Airways 1 stop flights from London to Singapore cost around £1600.

I would suggest Qatar Airways as a good option for the following three reasons:

    1. Range of departure and arrival times from the UK (I assume you are flying from London);
    2. Generally very good service and high quality seating, in-flight entertainment and food and drink;
    3. If you are a BA Executive Club member you will be awarded a significant number of avios and tier points.

There have obviously been some difficulties with the new Doha Airport but (I understand) these are now resolved. For the aviation enthusiasts out there, Qatar fly a range of aircraft from Heathrow – including their relatively new A319 service and the 787. The new Qatar A380 might even be in service by the time of your trip…..!

I have seen Qatar sale fares J fares on offer in the region of 2-2.2k.

I agree that it is difficult to say much more without more information. Do you currently have status or are you trying to get status with any particular airline alliance? I generally see Emirates as less helpful in that regard. I assume Singapore Airlines are very expensive for the dates you are looking for?

I hope that helps and do let us know what you decide, AF.

Please avoid Jet Airways – specifically the India-Singapore route since for this sector they use an old 737-800 for a nearly 6 hour flight..

On the flipside, their London-Mumbai or Delhi sector they use a 777-300ER which has excellent business class seats..

I have never flown Air India so no comments but would avoid it considering the number of delayed flights they have been having.

Have you thought of traveling MH even though with all the bad publicity, they seem to offer good fares and use the A380 for the LHR-KUL sector.

    Cheers,
    Moadweeb.

    Hi Livinglife,
I would agree with the other comments in this thread. As no affiliation with no airline, you are free to choose your airlines. WE are GOLD *A, so tend to stick with them. WE were Gold with EK, but gave it up in favour of *A.
What you have to decide is: Do you want service, save on cost, or NON-STOP flts. EK have chauffeur for J class, the A380 if you like the AC, but they change flights in the middle of the night in DXB. You will see previous threads on this site re changing planes in the middle of the night in DXB! Some pax will NEVER DO IT EVEN IF THE FLT WAS FREE. It is a bit of a BEDLAM to put it mildly! If you get A380 TO A380 then it is not too bad, but if you change A/C TYPE , then you WALK miles. (A380 TO 777-ER or vice versa). Some B777-ER do not have FLAT HORIZONTAL SEATS, but still sloping!
Air India has just joined the *A, so we flew them Business Class. ALL DREAMLINER FLTS with NO PROBLEMS. We changed in Delhi, and took an AIRSIDE HOTEL FOR THE 12 HRS OUTBOUND ONLY, and had a SHOWER/MEAL/SLEEP IN A BED. You do not go through Immigration/Customs, so no VISA. That fare was UK£1500 EACH. a saving of £1000 on EK. Cabin service was great, and no problems.
SQ AND TG are also fine, but the TG you change in BKK, and the fares are nearer £5000 for the two of you. Qatar and Etihad also offer great fares, but again a stop in the middle of the night.
If BA start offering SALES IN January, then that may be the route you should go down. NON-STOP and FLAT BEDS, Regular One World Pax will have more knowledge when the next BA sale is.
Whatever you chose, enjoy your flight, BUT THE MAIN REASON IS THE CRUISE, so I hope that your CRUISE IS FANTASTIC, with wonderful company, beautiful scenery and excellent cabin and Food.
    Good Luck!

    Hi Moadweeb,
We have just flown AIR INDIA LHR-DEL-SIN with no problems, however, they do have delays!
Moadweeb, do you think that MH will still be around in 2015?
Many pax I speak to say, like PAN AM, they may fall by the wayside.
Right now, they are offering FULL REFUNDS ON ALL FARES UP TO CHRISTMAS? Will they survive?
Just interested in your view PLEASE?

Of course MH will survive because the Malaysian government will prop it up to avoid embarrasment.

Back in topic… the EK deal sounds great. Choose the A380 operated flights and the lounges in Dubai will make the transit less painful. Remember also that BA will be starting A380 services to SIN 3 times a week as of, I think, October 2014. Might be some good deals around?

flyingcanadian – BA have 2 big sales each year – September and January. I’m not sure premium cabins to Singapore are discounted much as demand is so high throughout the year.

    Hi BA744FAN,
Thank you for the info. It was not so much for myself, but LIVINGLIFE who started this thread.
However, you will be right because SIN is a premium destination and flights do not need to be discounted.
I was stuck in SIN when the VOLCANIC ASH closed european air space. WE were flying Business class, and got out after a week!
However, a pax I met in Raffles was flying FC, and he had a wait for ONE MONTH FOR A FC SEAT. There is only 8-12 seats in FC, so less chance of getting out. I would have swallowed my pride and flown J class, but he was adamant he would wait for a FC SEAT!!
Anyway, BA744FAN thank you for the info!

    Hi AlexUpgrade77,
Thank you. I somewhat heartedly agree, but to what extent will the Malaysian government prop up the airline?

LIVINGLIFE UK, I agree with Alex here. As I said keep to the same type of AC and then you can go straight from the Upper Deck to the Lounge, and back to the Upper Deck. However, there is only 1 A380 a day DXB-SIN while there are 6 A380s DXB-LHR, and make sure YOU DO NOT BOOK ON A QANTAS A380 flt! They still have 2 a day code-shared with EK!

    Hi LivingLife,

A good way to check the options is http://matrix.itasoftware.com/ It is not a booking engine but is a good indicator of best deals. Turkish seems cheapest but the main range is £1925 upwards, with many just under £2,100 including Swiss.
Don’t forget you can put multiple departure points such as LON,BHX,MAN to get the regional deals also, if you don’t have to start from London.
