BMI AIR MILES

Posts

Hi- I am sure this has been discussed before on this forum - but I am a new user so please bear with me. I am a heavy user of BMI credit cards and MBNA. I have been made aware that MBNA cards are about to change to Barclaycard - so no more miles. I have also spoken to BMI today who say the card company is up for sale. Anyone any idea what will happen to all our air miles?- will we all have to use them up before the sale to whom - I don't know. Or are the miles going to be protected.. doubt it.Anyone got a clue?
Thanks

Do you use BMI to fly with a lot? If you use lot of there routes as it becoming part of BA soon I would get a BA Amex card or a normal Amex card (With the Green card you can change Amex points in to any Airmiles I think).

But I would have a Barclaycard to as some places do not take Amex.

Is the deal of the IAG(BA) takeover of BMI ment to happen soon?

I dont think IAG would want to piss off the people that have miles in BMI.

Hi- yes I use the cards - was 4 now 3 ( after MBNA has stopped air miles)
for spending on everything. I don't get the chance to use the air miles -maybe once a year. It is like trying to jump through many hoops getting a" free" flight- so only try once a year.
I suppose I will have to take a chance and wait and see.

Does this also mean the end of MBNA Miles and More Card?

Hi - I believe so- MBNA have been sold to Barclaycard- we have just got the new card from BC - and been told to that the MBNA card can no longer be used from 20th Feb- and there are no air-miles from 20th!!
As such we have stopped using the card. I rang BMI card services and they cannot say that the BMI card will not go the same way once it is sold off.
