I wrote to Keith Williams questioning why I was still seeing massive amounts of hand baggage in the T5 lounges, mainly our US cousins in transit…..
The considered reply came back. ” the changes came into effect on the 18th August. We are honouring the previous hand baggage allowances for bookings made prior to this date. After that date the new allowance will apply”.
So…..at check in, or the gate, anywhere in the world, the BA staff, or handling agent, has to check when the flight was booked as to which allowance to permit!! This will happen until 17th August 2016.
    What a ridiculous situation.
Just remember…”booked before 18th August, mate”. Sorted! :-))

I didn’t think the number of bags was changed, only the sizes. Sounds like the usual BA bullshit you are getting back from one of his lackeys.

Of course you are only as strong as your weakest link, so if staff at the gates or on board follow the line of least resistance then no change will be the order of the day.

Judging from the amount of hand baggage I saw today, from Oslo to London and then on to Miami…. no body seems to have read the new rules……
