Gold membership for life: Has anyone achieved this yet? As the kids say #justasking

Yes – when BA announced the scheme – I received an email confirming a lifetime Gold Card – after 15 years of membership (should joined earlier – but in those days thought FFP’s were just a gimmick) it’s a nice gesture.

Very close now. When they launched LTG they said that my points were ~20k, so nowhere near enough. I remembered that when I moved from UK to HK then PT my membership number had changed. I wrote to BAEC with the old number and had an immediate reply that they would investigate. Two days later another e-mail and I then had almost 34k points. Made a long -haul to SA in Jan, have an HK booked for next month then just need another.

If you changed your geographic location, and your BAEC number changed it is well worth writing.

Like Ekond 222 I have been a member since the beginning, and was actually a member of the original scheme 30 years ago where you paid £50 a year for BA lounge access. At that time I was commuting to Scotland weekly so used it out and in bound each week at BHX and EDI. Happy days!

My mother. Years of being Gold, normally over 2000TP/year. Got Lifetime Gold at the time they announced the scheme.

    Handy.

Received gold for life when it was announced. Now within a couple of trips of 50,000 tier points.

I see they offer Gold Guest List for life at 100,000 tier points…. Surely impossible? What’s the highest number out there?

    Nowhere near……

I only started flying BA 2 years ago – I got 3,450 in year 1 and so far I’m at 5,000 7 months into year 2….

I was only a couple of months off BMI’s (Diamond Club) Gold for life when it all went tits up.

As the Alice Cooper song goes – “I’ve still got a long way to go”
