Something went wrong last night in Dubai leaving at least 2 families without a bread winner and a question mark over the casue of the 747-400 failure.

I would like to send my thoughts and condolences to the families involved. Flying is unique in that most pilots take up the profession because of their passion for flying. When I get on the 747-400 on Tuesday midday, on my way back from Asia, I will send a note up to the pilots to thank them for excellence and dedication and for keeping me safe. I have never done this before becasue like most people, I have taken it for granted that I will arrive safe and sound.

Please travel safe everyone.

Does anyone know which engine mfg UPS used and whether there are any interim reports. These 2 incidents were only 8 weeks apart,

Safe travelling everyone.

The UPS 747 400 was 3 years old, the engines were General Electric CFM6.

It was terrible news as are all crashes.
