Serviced apartment group Oakwood is opening three new properties in Japan this summer, with two opening in Tokyo and the third marking the company’s debut in Osaka.

First to open its doors will be the Oakwood Residence Shinagawa, Tokyo in April 2018, though an exact date has yet to be set. The property is located in walking distance from Shinagawa Station’s Konan Exit, where a number of multinational companies have their headquarters.

In total, the property will offer 202 serviced apartments ranging from studio to three-bedroom units, with kitchens, washer/dryer facilities, a home entertainment system and a work desk available in each. Wifi, housekeeping and front desk services are also offered.

Oakwood Apartments Nishi-Shinjuku, Tokyo

Oakwood’s second new property in the capital, Oakwood Apartments Nishi-Shinjuku, Tokyo currently only has an opening date of “summer 2018”, however it has been previously described as Oakwood’s 13th property in Tokyo, suggesting it will open after the Oakwood Residence Shinagawa, Tokyo. Located in Tokyo’s western Shinjuku area, the property is within close proximity of two subway lines along with JR Shinjuku Station – one of the city’s busiest train hubs.

The Oakwood Apartments Nishi-Shinjuku, Tokyo will offer far fewer apartments than its Shinagawa sibling, with just 40 units available in studio and one-bedroom formats. These also come with fully furnished kitchens, household appliances, a home entertainment system and wifi, however there is also a Residents’ Lounge available to guests.

Oakwood Apartments Shin-Osaka

Also with a summer 2018 opening date is the Oakwood Hotel and Apartments Shin-Osaka, the group’s first property in the city and its only one outside of Tokyo. Shin-Osaka Station – a major bullet train station – is within walking distance from the property.

The Osaka property has a total of 185 accommodations – 59 hotel rooms and 126 serviced apartments – with a fully furnished kitchen in the latter being a key difference between the two. Guests also have access to a concierge, front desk and housekeeping services as well as wifi and a gym.

Oakwood currently has 11 properties in operation in Japan, all of which are located in Tokyo.
