Marco Polo Club, the loyalty programme of Cathay Pacific and Cathay Dragon, has expanded its Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts benefits to now include properties across Greater China.

The benefits mirror those introduced in January last year for elite Marco Polo Club members who stay at the Four Seasons Hong Kong. These have now been expanded to also include the hotel group’s properties in Beijing, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Shanghai (Puxi and Pudong), Shenzhen, Tianjin and Macau.

Arguably the most attractive benefit available to Gold and Diamond members is receiving a complimentary one-level room upgrade when booking a stay directly with the hotel. Elite members can also get complimentary breakfast, early check-in and late checkout, as well as either curbside or in-room check-in.

There are also various lifestyle benefits that Gold and Diamond members can take advantage of, notably guaranteed reservations and select restaurants, bars and lounges within the hotels. Complimentary glasses of Champagne or signature cocktails are also offered for groups of up to six people when ordering food at the restaurants. A 10 per cent discount can also be received on all spa, manicure and pedicure treatments with a complimentary glass of Champagne.

In December last year, Cathay Pacific made a number of adjustments to its Marco Polo Club programme, lowering the threshold for lower-tier members to retain their Green status and awarding bonus club points on select routes.

Among these were its flights to Shanghai, which earn an additional five to 10 club points per sector across most fare classes in all cabins, reducing the number of trips required to achieve tier status.
