Japan Airlines is expanding its connectivity to the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia, with the carrier set to begin codesharing on 11 routes operated by Doha-based Qatar Airways starting April 1, 2018.

The codeshare routes join those already part of the two airlines’ agreement, namely Qatar Airways’ flights between Doha and Tokyo (Haneda and Narita), on which Japan Airlines has placed its code since 2013.

The expansion to the existing agreement will see this expanded to include Qatar Airways’ flights from Doha to the following destinations:

  • Azerbaijan – Baku
  • Turkey – Ankara and Istanbul (Sabiha Gokcen and Ataturk)
  • Jordan – Amman
  • Ethiopia – Addis Ababa
  • Kenya – Nairobi
  • Tanzania – Dar es Salaam
  • South Africa – Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town

Japan Airlines passengers will be able to book connecting flights from Doha as part of a single itinerary from 11am on March 14 onwards.
