DoubleTree by Hilton Chengdu – Longquanyi
Chengdu’s first Doubletree by Hilton recently opened in the city’s economic and technological development zone, and is within a short ride of Chengdu Longquan Automobile City and Wolong Valley, and an international golf club with an 18-hole course. A drive of about 40 minutes will get you to the hotel from from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport.
The hotel features 394 guestrooms including 48 apartments. Guestrooms start at 38 sqm in size and all feature floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of the nearby natural scenery. Each room is equipped with a Hilton Sweet Dreams bed, wifi, a 42-inch LED TV, Crabtree & Evelyn bath kits and in-room remote-printing service.
There are five restaurants, a tea house and a lobby bar. The first, Open, serves buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner using local ingredients and seasonal produce, Yuxi offers a fusion of modern Cantonese cuisine and Sichuan spice, while The Ra-Don serves Japanese dishes. There is also Chengdu tea house, Zen Six, and the Lobby Bar, which serves coffee as well as freshly baked pastries.
The hotel provides more than 1,530 sqm of meeting space including private VIP reception rooms, six meeting rooms, a more than 1,000 sqm outdoor lawn, a roof-top garden and a 700 sqm grand ballroom that can accommodate up to 500 guests.
Hilton Fuzhou
Hilton’s second property in Fuzhou, the Hilton Fuzhou is located in the Jiangbin region, near Fuzhou International Finance Centre and Wanglongtai Park. The city centre is about 10 minutes away by car, and Fuzhou Changle International Airport is about 45 minutes away.
Hilton Fuzhou has 331 rooms and suites in total, all featuring floor-to-ceiling windows offering views of the city and riverfront. Guestrooms have stand-alone bathtubs and showers, and guests booked in the Executive guestrooms and suites have access to Executive Lounge privileges such as daily buffet breakfasts, afternoon tea and evening cocktails.
For F&B, the FAM Kitchen serves a variety of cuisines including local Fuzhou specialties, while Green House specialises in healthy options. Meanwhile Sky Lounge on level 40 provides a wide selection of drinks, afternoon tea and pastries.
On the recreational side of things, the hotel has an indoor infinity pool and a 24-hour fitness centre equipped with treadmills, cardio machines and strength-training equipment. For corporate meetings and events, there are also 11 function rooms and three ballrooms, with audiovisual equipment and even a vehicle lift that brings cars up from the second floor to the grand ballroom.
Angsana Zhuhai Phoenix Bay
Angsana Zhuhai Phoenix Bay is currently set to open in the first quarter of this year, situated approximately 500 metres from Phoenix Bay Beach. The resort is within a 20-minute drive of the Macau border and Zhuhai Jinwan Airport is about an hour’s drive away.
The hotel’s 202 rooms are separated into categories, ranging from the 63 sqm Panoramic Sea View Room to the 248 sqm Sea View Two-Bedroom Pool Duplex.
Two restaurants and a bar are also set to open in the hotel – Rice Bowl serves Southeast Asian dishes, Market Place offers an international buffet, and Lobby Lounge Shadow serves an all-day menu.
Leisure facilities include a spa, a heated outdoor swimming pool, a gym and a kid’s club. Event spaces range from the 48 sqm Azalea meeting room to the 330 sqm Egret Ballroom.
Rebranded hotels
Wanda Vista Beijing
Sofitel Wanda Beijing underwent an identity change at the beginning of the month, rebranding as the Wanda Vista Beijing hotel.
The hotel is located in central business district close to Guo Mao Subway Station and is a short distance from major tourist attractions such as the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. Beijing Capital International Airport is about 30 minutes away via the airport expressway.
There are 417 guestrooms in total, including 310 Deluxe Rooms, 63 Executive Floor Deluxe Rooms and 44 suites, and each room is equipped with advanced electronic equipment.
A few F&B outlets have already opened, including Cafe Vista serving international dishes, River Drunk Huaiyang Restaurant offering Huaiyang cuisine, and Quyan Chinese Restaurant specialising in “Lu Cai” dishes. The hotel is expecting to open more top-grade traditional Chinese cuisine restaurants in future.
Wanda Vista Beijing has a total of 14 meeting rooms, all located on the seventh floor, with a total space of 3,337 sqm. The 1,368 sqm Grand Ballroom is equipped with an audio system and can be divided into three banquet halls to accommodate functions of 850 people.
The Kunlun Jing An
Hilton Shanghai also rebranded as a Jin Jiang property on January 1, 2018. The Kunlun Jing An, as it is now known, is located in the former French Concession area of the city and is a short distance from Shanghai’s premier shopping streets, West Nanjing Road and Huaihai Road. It takes about an hour to reach the hotel from the Pudong International Airport by car and about half an hour from Hongqiao Airport.
Within the hotel itself are 714 rooms and suites, each equipped with wifi and a 42-inch HD TV, along with five F&B outlets. Atrium Café offers all-day international menu serving Cantonese, Sichuan and Shanghainese cuisine, and dim sum, available at lunch and dinner; Lobby Pavillion serves teas, coffees, snacks and cocktails; Penthouse Bar on 39 offers drinks and coffee with jazz music; Leonardo’s offers Italian cuisine focused on charcoal grill; and Gourmet Corner provides pastries with a takeaway menu.
On the events and leisure side, the hotel also has a health club, indoor swimming pool, squash court, outdoor tennis court and spa, along with 2,500 sqm of function space, including 18 meeting rooms, the Galerie, Penthouse and the Grand Ballroom.
